Like a sexually-charged, hyper-motivated rock ‘n’ roll convertible, Los Angeles band the Electric Children have returned with a new album »Fantasy Land« and the promise of more to come in the second half of 2025.
Lo-fi and shoegaze slam full-force into punk rock, Nuggets-era garage and contemporary alt-rock, as minds and voices allow themselves to become entangled with all of the wicked fervor of legs in a bed. It’s an intoxicating mix of gloriously droning, male/female, often harmonized vocals over buzzsaw riffery and infectious melodies.
“Looks like the crooked cops, have their guns pointed right at us,” the Children croon in »Scene Of The Crime«, the lead single, a song that features the talents of Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss, Mondo Generator, Dwarves (etc) man Nick Oliveri and is available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and more.
The song was mixed by Paul Fig (Alice In Chains, Ghost, Slipknot), and mastered by John McBain (who has worked with Soundgarden side bands Hater and Wellwater Conspiracy). That pair, along with the Children themselves, have generated palpable and vivid electricity, served with a side of dark magic. »Scene Of The Crime« is just the entry ramp.

The album also includes appearances by Danny B Harvey (Nancy Sinatra, Johnny Ramone), John Carlucci (The Speedies), Gitane Demone (Christian Death), Zou Zou Mansou (Soraia), Jesika Von Rabbit, Poppy Jean Crawford, Leanne Bowes (Demi Lovato), Bill Bateman (Cramps, Blasters), Ginny Luke (Foo Fighters, Britney Spears), Marcie Bolen (Von Bondies), Melanie Vammen (The Pandoras, The Muffs ), and Greta Valenti & Robin Davey (Well Hung Heart), as well as the aforementioned Nick Oliveri. Who knows who will pop up next?
»Fantasy Land« arrived May 23, 2025. The release was celebrated with a release show at the Redwood Bar in L.A. on May 24, with the Detroit Cobras and Tenement Rats.
