UK doom/sludge metal trio Voidlurker announce new EP »Loathe For Life« and premiere first single »Green Ghost«!

Birmingham, UK based doom/sludge metal trio Voidlurker premiere the first single »Green Ghost« taken from their upcoming EP, »Loathe For Life«, scheduled for release on September 26th, 2025 via APF Records.

Birmingham’s reputation as the birthplace of heavy music needs no introduction. From the molten riffs of Black Sabbath to the steel-edged power of Judas Priest, the city has long been a forge for all things loud, dark and heavy. That legacy continues today in bands like Voidlurker.

Formed in 2017, this sludge-doom trio delivers exactly what you’d hope for: down-tuned riffs, thick fuzz, and a weight that doesn’t let up. Vocals come coated in grit, guitars rumble with low-end menace, and the whole thing moves with the kind of deliberate, unstoppable force that defines the genre. Voidlurker aren’t trying to rewrite the rulebook, they’re here to hammer it home.

Their first recorded outing came in 2018 with a two-track demo featuring the bleak standout »Bitchcraft & Misery«. It turned heads, as did their live show, most notably with a ferocious performance on the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock 2019.

Later that year, they hit Foel Studios to record the »Industrial Nightmare« EP with producer Chris Fielding (Conan). The result was four tracks steeped in Birmingham’s signature doom-laden atmosphere.

Years of gigging followed – sharing stages with the likes of Raging Speedhorn, Conan, Crowbar, The Obsessed, Viking Skull, Iron Void, OHHMS, and Witchsorrow – before the band returned to Foel in 2024. Again working with Fielding, they recorded their second EP »Loathe For Life«, released via APF Records on 26th September 2025.

Four tracks. No frills. Just full-force, old-school doom. Brad Thomas delivers the gravel-drenched vocals and thunderous riffs. Andrew Rennie brings the low-end weight on bass. Mitch Bishop hits with precision and power behind the kit. Voidlurker might be part of the new wave, but they carry the same crushing spirit that’s defined Birmingham metal from the start.
