Doomed Confessionary: Bobby, Nicolò, Luciano & Willy (Mystic Majesty)

Mystic Majesty is a psychedelic/stoner rock band from Verona, Italy. Founded in 2018, Mystic Majesty consists of Bobby Clifton (guitar, vocals), Nicolò Scardoni (bass, vocals), Luciano Stellin (drums) and Willy Birilli (guitar).
Known for blending catchy riffs with deep, concept-driven music, their debut album »Speak Your Mind« has been praised for its energetic and compact approach to a typically long-winded genre. The album deals with complex themes surrounding the human mind, presenting these ideas through short, punchy tracks, many under three minutes long. Despite the heavy subject matter, the music remains engaging and accessible, reminiscent of bands like Queens Of The Stone Age but with a unique twist.
In 2023, the band signed with the California based label Wet Records to release »Speak Your Mind« in three vinyl editions. The »Speak Your Mind« tour saw Mystic Majesty perform in Italy, Austria, UK and the Netherlands and share the stage with iconic artists of the stoner scene like Mondo Generator, 1000mods, Mario Lalli & The Rubber Snake Charmers.
»Midnight Sun«, »Missing Pieces« and »Enter The Void« are the first three singles from Mystic Majesty’s new album, which will be released in September 2025 via Wet Records. The release will be followed by US west coast tour.
Can you please say a few words about your band?
Hi there! We are Mystic Majesty, an Italian psychedelic/stoner band that was born at the end of 2018 in Verona, Italy.
We started composing our own music and shaping our sound from the beginning, inspired from everything that we’ve been listening and all we’ve been experiencing in this crazy ride.
Our influences are various in genres and periods but mostly we are compared to bands like Queens Of The Stone Age and the desert stoner scene, even if we’ve all grown up listening to everything from Pink Floyd to Motörhead and everything in between (Led Zeppelin, NIN, Black Sabbath, Mastodon, The Beatles, David Bowie, Jack White…).
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Our biggest challenge so far is emerging from a country where our genre isn’t popular at all, and finding a place in a world that’s over-saturated with music and where most of the people haven’t time to listen to a full song. We’ve been truly blessed by our label Wet Records that really made a difference, and helped us gain credibility and spread out our music, and we are very lucky to have a fan base that loves our sound.
What can you be most proud of so far?
We are really proud of what this band is becoming, and of our willingness to experiment and avoid being confined by the boundaries of any one genre. Our second album, which will be released on September 26th will be different from the first – it will still carry the same attitude and our distinctive sound, but this time we’ve taken a different approach.
What was your biggest regret?
Probably that we had to cancel our first European tour due to the pandemic, but luckily this gave us time to schedule more shows and work on new material.
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Only time will tell, but so far probably the shows at StonerKras with 1000mods and Mondo Generator, FITW Festival with Mario Lalli & The Rubber Snake Charmers and the one at “The Cave” in Amsterdam.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Probably knowing that there’s still a lot of people hungry for new music and live shows.
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Mastodon, NIN, QOTSA
What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Never Give Up, keep experimenting and focus.
What are your guilty pleasures?
We love cold beer, good wine, all kinds of cuisine, smoking and playing rock’n’roll!
Can you say something more about the current music scene in Verona?
It’s pretty underground and there’s just a bunch of venues, but there’s a lot of good bands in our area and some nice festivals too.
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
11 We will be touring the U.S. the West Coast this October, then heading to Europe and next year Mexico!
What are your plans for the future as a band?
Keep making as many records as we can, and tour as long as we are alive.
How can people best support your band?
Buying vinyls and merch, and spreading our music everywhere.
Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thanks for believing in our music and coming to our shows, this really means so much to us! We love you so much! Special thanks to Bojan of Doomed Nation for spreading good music and for believing in rock’n’roll!
