Bath, UK based progressive/heavy psych rockers Sergeant Thunderhoof have announced a collection of covers, »Hot Hits, Heavy Hooves«, which will be released on December 11th, 2026 via Pale Wizard Records. The album contains previously released versions of classic songs along with some newly recorded takes on some of the band’s favourite hits from over the years.

Somerset heavy rock five-piece Sergeant Thunderhoof are pleased to deliver an early ‘Christmas Gift’ with the release of »Hot Hits, Heavy Hooves«, an 11-track covers album celebrating some of the band’s favourite artists and compositions. The album arrives December 11th 2026 via Pale Wizard Records.
From their celebrated interpretation of Kate Bush’s iconic »Cloudbusting«, to the sprawling psychedelia of Alice Cooper’s »Halo Of Flies«, the monumental sweep of Pink Floyd’s »Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI-IX)« and the sheer emotional weight of Budgie’s epic »Parents«, »Hot Hits, Heavy Hooves« is a decade-spanning collection of adventurous interpretations which pays tribute to artists who have inspired the band, while putting their own unmistakable stamp on some truly iconic songs.
The release follows 2024’s »The Ghost Of Badon Hill«, the band’s fifth studio album and their most successful to date, which reached No. 24 in the Official UK Album Chart; a major achievement for an independent band with no distribution or major label backing.
Recorded and mastered by guitarist Josh Gallop at Stage 2 Studios in Bath, with the exception of track 11, recorded with Ben Turner, »Hot Hits, Heavy Hooves« sees Sergeant Thunderhoof take 11 commercially successful songs and drag them firmly into their own blistering sonic universe, the colossal riffs, heavyweight grooves and effortless vocals making each song sound like it was written for them.
*CD ONLY – The majority of our finances are being held back to fund our forthcoming new studio album in June 2027. No vinyl edition of this album is planned for the foreseeable, unless there is substantial demand to warrant it (it would have to be a double vinyl due to the length so it would be a costly exercise).
