“Desert psych rock duo based in Taos, New Mexico + Denver, Colorado. Our instruments are dented and dirty, just like us.”
Universe Complete is a desert psych rock duo that formed in December, 2022. Chas Storrow is the guitarist, bassist, and vocalist. Connor Gibson is the drummer and vocalist.
Universe Complete is raw and unpretentious, reflecting the band’s rural upbringing and the high desert settings where the music was born. The drums are dented, the guitars are encrusted with years of desert sand. The undeniable groove reflects the band’s wandering musical tastes, from hard rock and metal to blues and funk to spoken word poetry, with extended jams that take the listener on a journey.
Storrow and Gibson met as children in rural Vermont, attending elementary school together and maintaining a friendship throughout high school after Storrow’s family moved. They did not play music together until adulthood, and their musical connection became apparent in early 2020. During the cold of winter, on a rafting company lot in Taos, NM, the seeds of Universe Complete were planted during jam sessions on a decommissioned school bus.
The pair began playing regularly after Gibson moved to Denver, putting Taos within a day’s drive. Six of Storrow’s demos, known as »Turtle Mountain«, became the basis of the band’s first album. A line of Storrow’s lyrics, “In the end I see the Universe Complete,” inspired the band name.
The debut Universe Complete album was released in 2025 on the summer solstice. All songs were written, composed, produced, recorded, mixed & mastered by the band.

• Ocate is within the approximate territory of the Nʉmʉnʉʉ Comanche.
• El Prado & Taos are the current & historic territories of the Taos Pueblo & Tigua (Tiwa) peoples.
• Ocate & Taos are within the historic territories of the Lipan Apache, Jicarilla Apache, and Pueblo peoples.
• Denver is within the historic territories of the Arapaho and Cheyenne cultures.
• The Nuche (Ute) territories encompass all of these places.
