Witch’s Mirror emerges from D.C.’s heavy underground with pummelling debut EP!

Forged in the depths of Washington, D.C.’s heavy music underground in May of 2023, Witch’s Mirror plays brooding, charred doom metal infused with grunge, experimental and hardcore influences. The band is comprised of Kristin Eliason (vocals), Carni Klirs (guitar), Matt Cohen (bass) and Brandon Korch (drums) – long time friends and veterans of D.C.’s DIY punk community whose current and past bands include Pilau, Cryptid Summer, Literals, Out Sick!, and Jail Solidarity. The band formed over a shared love of slow and heavy music, fascination with the occult, and desire to live in a world free from the imperialist, capitalist and fascist forces threatening our existence.

On the four tracks of their self-titled EP, Witch’s Mirror dredges the depths of its doom and sludge influences – from the cavernous, blackened riffs on »Control« to the spaced-out, desert metal drift of »Solstice«. Witch’s Mirror’s debut EP is a confident, pummeling new addition to D.C.’s storied metal scene.

Witch’s Mirror will play their release show on October 19th at D.C.’s Ivy City Brewery, with support from Drugs Of Faith, Omit All, and Torvus.

Recorded and mixed by Matt Michel at Viva Studios, June 2024.
