American heavy music duo Turkey Vulture has unveiled new single »Jill The Ripper« taken from their upcoming EP, »On The List«, set to release this Friday, October 25th, 2024.

Connecticut heavy music duo Turkey Vulture have released their menacing new track »Jill The Ripper«. The song is from their forthcoming release On The List which is set to land on October 25th, 2024.

The band comments “Jessie wrote this one on upright bass during the pandemic, after reading many depressing posts in a women’s FB group about all these dudes that were basically useless – expecting a lot from their “dates” but having NOTHING to offer in return in terms of friendship, relationships, anything. Like, bro. Really.”

The six-track EP features five gritty anthems that reflect what listeners have come to expect from Turkey Vulture: as one reviewer put it, “a stoner metal heart and a punk attitude” marked by aggressive vocals, melodic basslines, and freight-train drums. The final track, »Jill The Ripper«, takes a different turn. This deadly folk song, featuring guitar, banjo, and accordion by guest musician Steve Rodgers (Mighty Purple), is a departure from Turkey Vulture’s traditional sound – but the grimly humorous lyrics certainly align with »On The List«’s heavier tracks.
