Garage psych/acid rock/stoner rock from Detroit, Michigan.

Carbon Decoy was formed in 2020 in Southern Michigan as the recording project of Jared Jordan and Casey Rowe. The duo developed a live set and spent the first half of 2021 playing live shows around Michigan. Earl Mudd then joined the band on guitar in July 2021.

Carbon Decoy recorded a live EP at Dogtown Studios in Grand Rapids and released their first set of songs, »Live at Dogtown« in 2021.

After ending 2021 with a performance in Hamtramck, the band spent 2022 developing a following in Detroit. In October 2022, working with Erik Maluchnik, the band went into the studio to record their first full length album at Tempermill Studios in Ferndale. In 2024, after spending nearly 2 years playing around the state of Michigan and other states around the Midwest, the band released their debut album.

»Superstition Plagues The Purity Of All« was released in February of 2024. They spent the next year performing across the Midwest while continuing to write new songs.

The band returned to the Tempermill at the end of 2024 to record their second album with Maluchnik. »Crush The Sun« was released in July of 2025.
