American meditative sludge/doom metal solo project Dhyana presents new album »Madhyamaka«

Galliano, Louisiana based meditative sludge/doom metal solo project Dhyana has just released new album »Madhyamaka« on November 15th, 2025.
Dhyana comments: “»Madhyamaka« is now released. This release weighs heavy on the drone side of Dhyana and features instruments I’ve never used in my other albums. This is by far my most different sounding album and I hope everyone will enjoy this.”
Tracklist:
01. Nagarjuna
02. Madhyamaka
03. Doctrine Of Emptiness
Meditative sludge/dharma doom from South Louisiana. One-man project devoted to buddhist teachings and meditative practices.
“»Madhyamaka« is a school in Mahayana Buddhism founded by the philosopher Nagarjuna. It’s teachings emphasize on emptiness and The Middle Way. It teaches that all phenomena are empty of inherent independent nature. This belief has influenced many Mahayana teachings and Nagarjuna is often times regarded as a second Buddha of our time. Alot of thought went into the writing of this release and I introduced instruments not in any other release with the only programmed sound being the drums. This one is very different from my latest »Mu« for it focuses basically on the same guitar drone with slight variations, with the only other melody being done by other instruments and the occasional ambient leads. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Thank you all so much!”

Dhyana’s previous full-length album »Mu« was released on September 20th, 2025.
Tracklist:
01. Zenjyo
02. Soto
03. Ikebana
04. Susokukan
05. Shinjin Datsuraku
06. Gyojuzaga
07. Shoshaku Jushaku
08. Mu
“»Mu« follows the theme of Zen Buddhist teachings and ideas. Focusing primarily on the bass and drum side of Dhyana, this release is very minimal and bare bones with most of the songs only having a single bass guitar recording following the drums. I wanted the bass and the drums to feel very close to each other without having too many other sounds surrounding them and let them become one.
A monk once asked Master Zhaozhou, “Does a dog have Buddha Nature?”
Zhaozhou replied, “Mu!”
“Mu” means nothingness or no thing.
This teaches that since all beings have Buddha nature, that there is no such thing. Nothing to differentiate. Mu.”
