Denver, Colorado based psychedelic stoner/doom trio Burning Sister premiere new single and music video »Fadeout« taken from their upcoming EP, »Get Your Head Right«, set to release later this year.

“Noise rock influenced psychedelic garage rock with an old school feel, modern innovation and plenty of swagger.”

»Fadeout« is the second single from the band’s upcoming »Get Your Head Right« EP and was tracked, mixed, and mastered by Austin at All Aces Studios. The band take things in a grittier, noisier direction than on their debut full-length, bringing even more fuzz and distortion to the mix.

Message from the band:

“Our upcoming »Get Your Head Right« EP has an overall grittier, garage rock feel than our previous releases and »Fadeout« leads the charge and was initially born from a nasty, blowed-out, overdriven noise rock bass riff where I just cranked the gain and treble and counter-intuitively rolled the bass back just a little. It’s not usually the tone I go for when composing songs for Burning Sister. But it worked and it all came together pretty fast after coming up with the main riff. I was also really into Plastic Crimewave’s Galactic Zoo Dossier psych magazine around the time we were writing and there was a drawing with the phrase, “Fadeout for a Freak,” on it. It really stuck with me and, at the same time, kind of bummed me out so I rolled with it. You can either stand your ground, or you can just say, “fuck it,” and fadeout…” – Steve, Burning Sister

Formed in 2018, Burning Sister is a three-piece hailing from Denver, CO consisting of Steve (bass/synth/vox), Alison (drums), and, as of late 2022, Nathan (guitars). The trio is heavily influenced by 70s rock/metal, psychedelia, acid rock, 90s noise rock/trance rock, and doom.

Burning Sister released their debut full-length album, »Mile High Downer Rock«, in November of 2022 to positive reviews in the underground heavy rock scene. JJ Koczan of The Obelisk has commented, “…it’s not party rock – unless you happen to be having precisely my kind of party – and as a debut it is both declarative and exploratory, setting out the band’s intentions for future growth in melody, in consuming tones, in synth integration and expansiveness of craft and structure, while kicking a good bit of ass in the here and now.”

Burning Sister is currently playing shows and have wrapped up the recording of the »Get Your Head Right« EP for a Summer 2023 release featuring a cover of Mudhoney’s »When Tomorrow Hits«.
