Australian heavy stoner rock trio The Wretched Creatures are releasing their debut single »God’s Gun« on May 1st, 2022.

The Wretched Creatures is a heavy stoner rock and doom trio from Brisbane, who are on the cusp of releasing their highly anticipated debut single »God’s Gun« on May 1st. Mastered by Carl Saff (Fu Manchu, Boris, Om , Elder, Earthless) and recorded and mixed by Nik Carpenter at Core Studios (Devolved, Pistonfist, Rome, Massic) the recording is a reflection of the band’s huge live sound.

Since their first gigs in late 2019 The Wretched Creatures have been described by some listeners as “a wall of sound” and “not metal, but still the heaviest band of the night!” and also “something like early QOTSA, Fu Manchu and a hint of Electic Wizard?”. Formed from three members of the 2000’s post-metal 5-piece group Feed, the band consists of founding member Ezra La Vin on guitar/vocals, with Michael Luck on bass and Dave Fox on drums.

When asked about the meaning of »God’s Gun«, Ezra explained “It’s basically imagining a future where humanity has evolved to the point where they have a collective consciousness and they are running a heap of simulations so they can relive and witness past events from stone age to space age. And if one particular simulation was to get really out of hand, would they be tempted to hit the reset button?”
