Belarusian doom/sludge/death metal band Matraque stream new single »Kola«, released on January 27th, 2025.

»Kola« is the first single taken from Matraque’s upcoming debut album, »Nature Morte«, which will be released in April 2025 via Ashen Tree Records.

The upcoming single »Kola« will offer a glimpse into the self-recorded and self-produced full-length release, which is currently in the final stages of production. All the lyrics for the album were written in Belarusian, which is one of the elements of the band’s self-expression.

Just as over time, anger and aggression transition into despair, disappointment, and depression, the band, without losing loudness and intensity, chooses corresponding forms and nuances of sound to convey their perception of reality.

In search of their style, where low and sluggish masses of sound are interspersed with mid-tempo bursts, the band drew inspiration from such acts as Body Void, Primitive Man, The Body, Indian, Bismuth, Meth Drinker, Grief. In terms of genre, one could mention sludge, doom, and primitive death metal.
