The Berlin foursome’s mythology-inspired sophomore album delves deeper into progressive intricacy and psychedelic expanses, as their colossal fusion of odd time signatures, melodic hooks, labyrinthine grooves, and stratospheric firepower ties it all together. Chanelling the sonic depth of Mastodon and Opeth while giving a loving nod to the stoner metal and grunge sound of Alice In Chains, they find the perfect balance between brutality and beauty, chaos and control.

»Ate’s Alchemist« is nothing but a ritual in riffcraft and rhythm and a testament to Sheev’s mastery of molten, mind-bending metal. Watch Sheev’s latest videos Martef and King Mustard II.

Sheev formed in 2017 in Berlin and has been relentlessly crafting their captivating brand of progressive and stoner metal since then. Their beautifully intricate songwriting interweaves heavy, headbang-worthy riffs and poly rhythms, compelling melodic vocals, an earth-shattering rhythm section, and sophisticated arrangements.

All four band members – Nitzan (guitar/vocals), Phil (drums), Joshan (bass) and Songwut (guitar) – come from various corners of the globe. Their diverse backgrounds influence their sound, shaping it into a genre-bending vibe that seamlessly combines stoner, grunge and progressive metal elements with a nod to the classics and a fresh modern approach, delivering a perfect storm of sonic innovation. They released their debut album »Mind Conductor« in 2021, instantly making waves within the stoner metal community by reaching #12 on the Doom Charts and being consecrated “Album of the Year” by UK website The Sleeping Shaman.

In 2025, Sheev is set to release their second album, »Ate’s Alchemist« under the Ripple Music banner. This concept album steeped in mythological darkness is inspired by Ate, the Greek goddess of mischief who sows fear, delusion, and anxiety in mortal minds. The record follows her servant – the Alchemist – as he forges the very demons she unleashes upon humanity. From the existential dread of mortality to the chaos of a pyromaniac’s spiral, each track explores a different facet of madness. True to the band’s ethos, the music defies rigid genre walls: Opeth-esque prog intricacy collides with stoner metal-style grooves, while nods to Alice In Chains and The Sword bleed through the riff-heavy chaos.

The album was mixed by David Bottrill (Mastodon, Tool, Dream Theater) and mastered by Karl Daniel Lidén (Bloodbath, The Ocean, Greenleaf). It will be issued on LP, CD and digital on July 11th through label Ripple Music.
