About the album:

In October 2025, Pesta will release their long-awaited third album, »The Craft Of Pain«, digitally.

The record will be followed by a deluxe vinyl release later in the year via American label Glory or Death Records, featuring ultra-limited handmade pressings by Wax Mage Records / Gotta Groove Records.

The album spans 10 crushing tracks, each exploring historical episodes and figures who left deep scars of pain, violence, and bloodshed across humanity.

Themes range from inquisitorial persecution to the greed, lust, and megalomania that have fueled human cruelty throughout the ages.

»The Craft Of Pain« marks a step forward in every dimension, songwriting, production, and vision. It’s not only Pesta’s boldest artistic statement to date but also a reflection of the harsh realities of Brazil itself.

Social inequality and cultural tension seep through the record’s atmosphere, while subtle Brazilian percussive elements echo the band’s roots.

Pesta prepares the ground for their third full-length with the new single »Shadows Of A Desire«, out September 18, 2025. The complete album, »The Craft Of Pain«, arrives October 16 digitally, followed by deluxe vinyl editions through Glory or Death Records, with ultra-limited versions handcrafted by Wax Mage Records between late October and November.

»Shadows Of A Desire« reveals one of the album’s darkest facets. With their second single from »The Craft Of Pain«, Pesta plunges listeners into the oppressive weight of longing, anxiety, and the inexorable hunger of desire. The track unfolds like a confession of the self, a meditation on the restless pursuit of something forever out of reach. Its lyrics mirror inner unrest, suffering, and fleeting moments of hope that slip like grains of sand through an hourglass, painting desire as a vampiric force that feeds on the very consciousness of the one who seeks it.

Musically, the song mirrors this torment. Slow, oppressive riffs press down with the inevitability of fate, erupting into a fiery red cloud as the progression accelerates, only to collapse back into its original theme. This dynamic renders sound into anguish, transforming the tension between ecstasy and eruption into a heavy, cathartic passage. The listener is invited to inhabit the narrator’s mind, to suffocate under the weight of possession, to endure the torment of longing, and to taste the fleeting release that comes only in surrender to darkness.

Beyond the personal dimension, the song resonates on a broader, social scale: the impossibility of reaching ideals in an unequal world, the yearning for justice or change that always seems just out of reach, or the crushing societal pressures that confine thought and desire. In this sense, Pesta’s music becomes a mirror, reflecting both individual and collective struggles, confronting the listener with the boundaries of existence and desire itself.

The album’s cover art seems to translate this track almost literally. A human figure appears to erupt from within, as if desire and anxiety were tearing the body apart from the inside out. Ars Morindee’s work captures with uncanny precision the anguish that permeates human existence, turning sound into image and amplifying the album’s visceral force.

»Shadows Of A Desire« is a journey through tension, torment, and release, a sonic ritual where personal anguish fuses with the crushing weight of sound. Doom metal becomes both confessional and cataclysmic: a space for reflection and surrender.

The album as a whole functions as an inventory of human cruelty. From the inquisitorial tribunal to the reign of greed, each track stands as a sonic chapter of violence and memory. With refined production and an expanded artistic vision, »The Craft Of Pain« marks an evolution in every respect, from composition to atmosphere, without abandoning the raw, suffocating essence that made Pesta a respected name in Latin American doom.

Hailing from Belo Horizonte, Pesta had already carved its place with »Faith Bathed In Blood« (2019) and »Bring Out Your Dead« (2016), both acclaimed by outlets like Doom Charts and Desert Psychlist. The band also drew attention with their stoner doom reinterpretation of »Nightmare«, a classic by Brazilian extreme metal pioneers Sarcófago, reaffirming their deep connection to the country’s metal tradition.

With »Shadows Of A Desire«, Pesta unveils another fragment of the dark puzzle to be revealed in October. »The Craft Of Pain« promises to be more than an album: a full ritual of heaviness, art, and identity.
