Star Beast is a psych/stoner/doom band forged in the flames of pandemic era Toronto, Canada. Producer/musician and Sabbath-head Ruben Huizenga set out to write songs in the stoner/doom genre, on the advice of his son.
Pairing up with long time collaborator Kenneth Griffin on drums, the reaction was immediate. Ergo, Anthony Lombardi and Andrew “Chowder” Charters were recruited for guitars/keys and bass respectively and the “Beast” was born.

Star Beast gets its name from fictional luck-dragon “Falkor” from the 80’s classic kid’s movie, »The Neverending Story«. Like the luck-dragon, Star Beast’s riffs are both heavily fuzzed out, and bookended in dreamy soundscapes.
“Beasties” range from fans of psych/stoner/doom to shoegaze, grunge and classic rock camps. Catchy and concise songwriting has Star Beast comfortable on most any stage. Star Beast’s debut album is a punchy, melodic ride that never bores.
Star Beast has been around in the Toronto scene for the last couple years and are finally releasing their debut. This is for fans of anyone who equally enjoy stoner rock and 90s grunge. The music blends the two perfectly and results in a style that is it’s own, balanced between heavy fuzz and, at times, psychedelic grunge.
