“From summer 2006 to autumn 2007, I was part of Crystal Productions – the very label mentioned in connection with the digipak release of »Štvanice« in April 2008. However, this isn’t true; the band released the album themselves because no label showed any interest. It’s a fact that Fusaty didn’t try very hard to find a label to work with; he just asked around a few times, but nothing came of it, so he took matters into his own hands. At the time, I had no idea how to properly take care of such a recording in the role of a record label. CD sales by Czech bands on Crystal Productions were really dismal at that time, and the financial costs of production had to be offset by other means. It’s important to remember that, in 2007/08, the euphoric wave of free music downloads was coming to an end. Suddenly, there was no longer any need to buy or borrow CDs or laboriously copy or re-record audio cassettes. In retrospect, I view this period as a quiet interlude before the advent of streaming, social media and other technological advances that were beyond our imagination at the time. Paradoxically, the advent of digital technologies has helped increase the sale of music on physical media, at least within the metal subculture.
The album »Štvanice« became the first major graphic design project undertaken by Anxur, the chief graphic designer of Pařát Magazine from 2000 to 2022. He also created the artwork for the LP version (2014), MC version (2021), and this re-release, released on the 50th birthday of former Dissolving Of Prodigy flutist Valda. As a symbolic gift to a friend. Just like the LP version of »Zlodějská světélka«. Valda was in Fusaty’s close circle of friends, and he is the first person I consult about all “posthumous releases” of Dissolving Of Prodigy.

Put simply, the sound of »Štvanice« is what it is. After all these years, it belongs on the album. At the same time, however, we all know it could have been better if the band had gone to a better studio. To preserve authenticity, the sound on this re-release has not been remastered. As for the bonus material, I wanted to include something really personal, despite the poorer sound quality. Nowadays, CDs are mainly purchased by collectors and true fans of bands.
There is another reason for the CD re-release of »Štvanice«. The reported print run of 500 copies of the original does not correspond to reality at all. I still have about a third of the CDs at home because only 300 digipaks were produced and about a third of those were later stolen from Fusaty. Foreign distribution was practically non-existent and I only became involved several years after Fusaty’s death when the remaining digipaks were handed over to me.
This re-release, 18 years later, is therefore being released in a larger print run with the aim of reaching collectors around the world. As the original CD version was released as a digipak, the re-release comes in a standard jewel box.” — Petr Herdron, December 2025
