Bruxxa is a female-fronted doom metal from Augsburg, Germany. Founded in 2024, Bruxxa features members of Blazing Spheres, Textures Of The Sun and Sleeping Tree.
The four-piece has released their debut EP »Evocations I« on March 28th, 2025. Available now on all major streaming platforms.
Bruxxa consists of Marie-Claire Timmerman on vocals, Patrick Majdan on guitar, Fabian Kröpfl on bass and Nikita Gravenhorst on drums.
Can you please say a few words about your band?
Bruxxa is a doom metal project from Augsburg in southern Germany. All four of us came together from different musical projects in different metal genres to form the band in 2024. Our songs draw heavily on folklore, witchcraft and mythology, weaving these themes into heavy soundscapes with dark vocals and crushing riffs.
What was the biggest challenge for the band?
The biggest challenge so far has been balancing our creative ambition with the practical realities of recording, rehearsing, and performing while all following our dayjobs and individual projects. All of us have to wear many hats at once!
What can you be most proud of so far?
We are most proud of our first EP – not only the music itself, but also the way the artwork reflects its atmosphere and the lyrical themes. We worked with Ikosidio Art for the artwork built around the EP. I think the cohesive artistic concept – both aesthetically, lyrically and musically – really captures the aura of what we envisioned. Every time we look at the cover, it still feels like the perfect match for the music.
What was your biggest regret?
None yet, but we’re sure there’s still time!
What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Definitely our debut concert at a small, regional doom festival! The venue was set in an overgrown, enchanted forest, with the stage hidden behind trees – the perfect setting to perform our EP live for the first time. It was a fantastic way to kick off our journey, right in the heart of our local doom scene.
What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
Surprisingly there are people in the doom scene who don’t like Black Sabbath. Who knew?
What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Alice In Chains, Led Zeppelin, Kekht Arakh, Black Sabbath – a good mix.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Claire: wear earplugs, protect your ears at all costs (I didn’t, but it was good advice).
Pat: Just keep going!
What are your guilty pleasures?
Claire: Blasting emo classics like Bullet For My Valentine and My Chemical Romance on late night drives – pure doom metal inspiration, obviously.
Can you say something more about the current music scene in Augsburg?
It’s a fairly small scene, but everyone is ready to show up and support!
Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
To be announced!
What are your plans for the future as a band?
We are currently recording our second EP »Evocations II«, which will be released 2026. The songs will continue to explore the folkloric themes of »Evocations I«, picking up right where we left off. After that we can’t wait to play some festivals in summer!
How can people best support your band?
If you can, come to our shows! The energy of a live performance for sure is a different experience than listening to the songs on record. But great support can also mean simply adding our music to your playlists and enjoying it in your own way – either way, we’re happy when our music gets to be part of your soundtrack. Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thank you for supporting our music, it means the world!
