Doomed Confessionary: Pete (We Three Kings)

Hailing from Manchester, UK, We Three Kings are trailblazers for releasing visceral modern rock ‘n’ roll that always makes a statement. Intent on doing things the way they want to do them, they blend fuzzed up blues-rock into three-minute mini miracles of pure joy.

With Rich on vocals and guitars and Pete on drums, their riff-driven, guitar-heavy sound is perfect for a playlist alongside the likes of Queens Of The Stone Age, Royal Blood, Wolfmother, Rival Sons, The Black Keys and Jack White.

Things go up a level on stage, as their no-nonsense, high-energy live act continues to make waves across the UK rock and festival scene, offering audiences a razor-sharp reminder of the power of monstrous riffs turned up to 11.

We Three Kings have a powerful back catalogue of original music behind them, which includes 2024 album »By Royal Appointment«, and is available to stream or download across all digital platforms. The band’s second full-length album »Stone Cold Kiss« will be released in spring 2026.

Can you please say a few words about your band?
We are We Three Kings, a two piece (plus Skeleton), fuzzed up rock band from Manchester, England, with Rich on vocals and guitar/bass/fuzz, Pete on drums and backing vocals, and Bonesy who brings the attitude!

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Establishing ourselves! Coming from Manchester, a city with a rich musical heritage, however, more aligned with indie/house music, we initially found it hard to find our place, often being our put on showcases with bands and in turn audiences that were not quite in the same genre and so it was a hard slog to build an audience etc, at this time we we’re also finding our sound and writing style, there were a number of other factors to add to the mix, Covid of course, that impacted everyone tbf and a number of bands didn’t survive that period.. we also had changes in personnel (we did used too have three hence the name!!), and from that we had a big decision to make, do we look for another bass player, or can this work with the two of us? we went with the latter!!

What can you be most proud of so far?
Bouncebackability!! We’re really proud of our ability to adapt, never give up, and be willing to try something different, switching to the two piece format has transformed the band in many ways, the sound for one, Rich’s combined guitar and bass creates a huge wall of sound, which has elevated both our recorded music as well as our live sound! our writing style is much more defined, more direct, and impactful. and from that point we have really seen a positive shift, our stock is rising!!

What was your biggest regret?
Regret nothing! Life is too short! Work hard, have fun, and enjoy the ride!

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Without doubt, playing a Maid Of Stone festival in the summer, 5 thousand people in a field in Maidstone UK, 28 Degrees middle of the summer, what a great gig and a fantastic festival!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
A positive surprise was the community we have here in the UK within the rock scene, for up and coming bands, it is really good to know the scene is strong, there are loads of fantastic people who are putting their own time and effort, passion, and in most cases, money to create events of all sizes, supporting live music, and we can testify as we have benefitted from many of those fantastic live events, and met some fantastic people along the way.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Not advice given but my own advice to myself: Don’t forget the real reason why you play….is to have fun and escape! When you start to become a more serious (dare I say professional) band, it becomes more of a job, just don’t forget it was a hobby and its a fucking great one at that!

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Manchester?
Manchester – eclectic and vibrant (as always), UK rock scene – very strong.

Where can we see you live soon (concerts/tours)?
Loads of gigs coming up in the new year…many still not yet announced (Feb/March), I can confirm we have an album launch event in Manchester on 11 April (Limited tickets remaining for that one), we will on some great UK festival line ups in the summer too! best thing is to follow us on our socials and streaming platforms/Bandcamp, all future events will be posted out on socials…

What are your plans for the future as a band?
We’ve just release two new singles in the past couple of months so check them out, they’re from our upcoming new album called Stone Cold Kiss, more singles to come soon ahead of the album release in April 2026, we’ll be gigging as much as possible to support the album so come out to see us!!

How can people best support your band?
We love it when we meet new fans at gigs, so come to see us live if you can, and say hello!! Follow us on socials, maybe buy some merch! And if you like our stuff then spread the word on We Three Kings far and wide!

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thank you for listening and supporting us, it is very much appreciated, and we’ll see you out there somewhere soon! P.S. the new album is a Stone Cold Classic!!!
