Helsinki, Finland based death/doom metal band Baron drops the second single »Bound To The Funeral Pyres« taken from their forthcoming debut album, »Beneath The Blazing Abyss«, set to release next year via Transcending Obscurity Records.

Baron comments: “The 2nd single, »Bound To The Funeral Pyres«, from our debut album »Beneath The Blazing Abyss« is out now on the Transcending Obscurity’s official YouTube channel and all popular streaming platforms. Pre-orders for the album are starting next month, so be ready and have some of your christmas money saved when the time comes. Additional vocals performed by Riikka Riikonen & Jussi Riikonen.”

“Hello and greetings from Finland! We’re thrilled to announce that our debut full-length album, »Beneath The Blazing Abyss«, will be released through Transcending Obscurity Records later this year. It’s a record that we have been tirelessly working on since 2018, and after what felt like an eternity, we are bursting with excitement to share it with the world.

»Beneath The Blazing Abyss« showcases a blend of diverse influences, ranging from the psychedelic madness of Tucker-era Morbid Angel to death doom reminiscent of Disembowelment and Evoken, while also paying homage to Finnish legends like Amorphis and Sentenced.

Here’s our vocalist, Tommi, sharing his thoughts on the lyrics: “BTBA carves a story of exile and torment. Descending into purgatory and being reformed as one with the fire. Condemned to roam in the valley of eternal misery. Searching for solace in the sanctuary of scorching winds, yet still plummeting deeper in the sea of flames.”

We would like to express our appreciation to the following: Kunal and Transcending Obscurity Records for their patience and unwavering support, Jussi Riikonen for his outstanding production, recording, mixing, and mastering work, Timi Jetsu for recording the guitars, Misha Mono for creating the incredible cover art, and to everyone who has been with us since day one. The wait is almost over, and we can’t wait to see you all at our shows. Cheers!” states the band.
