»Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen« by Joe La Truite is an eclectic concept album based on the crazy characters that inhabit a gaming universe. It could also be inside Joe’s head, somewhere near Marseille.

The band effortlessly weaves songs through the metal, punk and psychedelic genres, controlling the chaotic journey with dramatic musicianship and vocals. Joe also adds a hip-hop style rap opening to the second track of the album, »Bad Death City«. This was released as the album’s debut single on 1 March 2025, introducing the band’s new work. »Bad Death City« charted at #5 on the Euro Indie Charts in April.

Light Speed followed on 11 April 2025, and the third video single, »Octogone 8000«, was released on 16 May 2025. The three songs have received regular airplay on syndicated radio stations and positive written reviews from the media. However, for the band, the singles are merely cogs in the wheel of the entire album, with the thirteen songs collectively raising the bar and bringing the album to Full Zguen.

What is Zguen, you ask? It all began when the founding members of Joe La Truite, Charles Roussel and Julien Liphard, met Martin Denquin at dBd Studio in late 2019 and jammed together. The three musicians gelled and created a fantastic energy and the band’s debut album, »Trapped In The Cosmos«, was recorded, produced, and released in 2020. While performing their music live, the band created a psychedelic, punk-infused metal energy that overwhelmed fans (The Zguen), causing them to headbang out of control. The audience blamed the band’s multi-genre sound for creating Zguen Energy. Now Joe La Truite has channelled this controlled chaos through »Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen«.

Weaving through metal punk, psychedelic genres, »Ultimate Ninja Storm 2: Full Zguen« was Frankenstiened at dBd Studio in the South of France. This album showcases the synergistic collaboration of Julien Liphard, Charles Roussel and Martin Denquin, the three heads that make up Joe La Truite’s collective Zguen Energy.
