Dahuz is a stoner-doom-prog band composed of four members from the south of France (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region).

Founded in January 2019, Dahuz first emerged as a power trio, bringing together Emmanuel Cadman (guitar, vocals), Alexandre Culoma (bass), and Guillaume Spinetta (drums). Inspired by bands like Monolord, Elder, and Spaceslug, the three friends quickly shaped their own musical universe.

From the very beginning, their ambition took form through the composition of original tracks, and five months later, the recording of their first EP began. It was only with the paralysis of the music world in 2020 that the »Cineres Mundi« project – the band’s first LP—started to take shape, along with the decision to welcome a fourth member.

The arrival of Guillaume Chomienne in 2023 marked the end of this search, while the album’s arrangements continued to be refined for another year before studio recording.

Driven by boundless passion and a unique chemistry, Dahuz is now ready to unveil »Cineres Mundi«, an intense sonic journey set to leave a lasting mark on the stoner-doom scene.

Emmanuel Cadman (guitar, vocals) is the creative mind behind Dahuz’s composition and lyrics. Initially a psychedelic rock guitarist, he quickly developed a passion for progressive music and the doom metal scene.Inspired by bands like Monolord and Elder, as well as film and video game soundtracks, Emmanuel retains a strong progressive rock influence – particularly from his British roots – which uniquely shapes the band’s compositions.

Alexandre Culoma (bass) is passionate about the instrumental aspect of the music, drawing influences from rock, electro, and hip-hop. Always ready to bring in riffs and grooves, he ensures harmonic cohesion between the instruments. His bass, with its sludgy and gritty tone, shifts between heaviness, fuzz, and spatial depth. For him, the Dahuz adventure began with a friendship among the members – a challenge to merge their inspirations into a true sonic journey.

Guillaume Spinetta (drums) brings controlled energy and a distinctive depth to each composition. Inspired by rock and grunge, he crafts rhythms that blend raw intensity with melodic nuances. Equally capable of unleashing explosive power or allowing the instrumental and vocal elements to breathe, his drumming revolves around sudden tempo shifts and a thoughtful approach, giving Dahuz’s compositions a unique sonic signature.

Guillaume Chomienne (guitar, backing vocals), the latest addition to the band, has been immerse in music since childhood. A multi-instrumentalist, he has explored a wide range of genres, from trip-hop to death metal, as well as blues and rap. His soundscape reflects his homeland, between serene lakes and towering mountains. Within Dahuz, he channels his emotions through raw riffs or atmospheric layers, always guided by instinct, bringing a unique and heartfelt touch to the band’s musical universe.

A gritty echo of heavy bass lines, furious riffs, and ethereal melodies:

»Cineres Mundi« (The Ashes Of The World) pays tribute to the sun through the lens of Greek mythology.

This first album, the result of work that began in 2020, marks a sonic evolution, breaking the boundaries set by the first EP with the addition of a second guitar.

Recorded in 2024 at DbD Studio with Julien Liphard and Martin Denquin, the album reaches its final form, realizing the band’s ambition.

Composed of five tracks, this album unfolds over an hour of sonic landscapes where raw power meets progressive and melodic nuances.

Dark and intense, »Cineres Mundi« depicts the solar apocalypse caused by humanity’s quest for greatness, inspired by the sun: an essential yet inevitably destructive celestial body, reducing everything to ashes.

Recorded and mixed by Julien Liphard at DbD Studios.
Mastered by Martin Denquin at DbD Studios.
