On the autumnal equinox of 23rd September 2026, Pyre Of Descent’s debut album will be released in cooperation with Rubeus Obex on double vinyl and by Swiss Dark Nights on compact disc.

»Albedo«, as it is titled, reflects esoteric experiences of abysmal awe in terrible enchantment. The devotional songs on the album are based around the themes of light, inmost alchemy and the spiritual ecstasies in the tension of becoming and passing. On »Albedo«, Pyre Of Descent consists of founding member and former vocalist Dave S. on guitar and Daniel S. on bass and vocals.

»Love’s Sombre Death (Canto II)« is a surrealist dirge on love’s demise; it deals with reaching closure and release when one surrenders their control to the forces without. It was inspired by personal experiences at the infamous Neudegg Alm in 2018.

The second Canto is a refined and distilled re-recording of the longer, original version, which was self-released on the summer solstice of 2020 and featured guest vocals by O-A (Light Of The Morning Star).
