German heavy blues rockers Apewards follow up their »Akrasia« record with a new »Live« EP!

German heavy blues rockers Apewards are gearing up to release new »Live« EP, which will see the light through Tonzonen Records.

Handmade rock music tends to produce more and more of the same. So instead of resurrecting the 70s or copying the brief heyday of grunge, Apewards shape the timeline into a pretzel and simply let the best happen at the same time: Fat riffs and catchy melodies are held together by driving rhythms, all undisguised and made of raw will. This is Apewards, stoner/blues rock like no other.

The project initially began as a hobby and a way of balancing our everyday life. But the band quickly developed a life of its own: After two EPs and countless concerts, some of which took the band beyond Germany’s borders, the first album »Tales Of Cloud Forest« was released in 2016. This was followed by further EPs, a live album and the next full-length LP »We The Living« in 2019.
In the summer of 2022, Apewards locked themselves in the unique studio RedRoof Loftsound to record a new, completely analog album with producer Matt Korr (Tiamat, Daily Thompson, Knights Of The Realm) direct-to-tape. The result is a sound that hums and lives – where you can literally hear the creaking beams of the recording room and feel the warmth of the glowing tubes. Musically, the band has not allowed itself to be limited by genre boundaries. And so each song is a separate and individual piece of the puzzle to the question: Why do we keep making decisions that we know are the wrong ones?

The third studio album »Akrasia« was released in May 2023 to an extremely positive response. It is a completely analog production. Noisolution took over the promotion via radio, online & print. The subsequent concerts are currently taking the band through Germany.
