Hungarian sludge/doom/death metal duo I Bleed Lava has finally released their four-track debut EP »The Flames Want Us All« on November 23rd, 2023.

I Bleed Lava’s mainman János comments: “It turned out to be a serious heavy material, many tragedies have befallen it in the past six months. Carving riffs and writing songs and lyrics helped me get through this tough period, the songs are what I felt. Deep pain, grief, terrible mental strain… Damn spiky material was born, and the sound reflects this. I had to release these thoughts from myself, and in this I found an extraordinary partner in the person of Péter Kéményes, who was terribly sensitive to the mood and content of the songs. From scary whispers to brutal growls, he used his voice in a wide range and variety, which I love.

There are no constantly spinning fast kick drums in the notes, I don’t want to join the ranks of those bands who always repeat the same clichés, I’ve been bored by this many times, probably because of my age. I built the songs only and exclusively in such a way, I wrote themes that fully reflect my emotional world, for me this is what art and music are about. Mood and feeling matter.

Fucking heavy lava riffs were born, to atomic heavy beats. The guitars have a sound reminiscent of Swedish old school death metal, the bass is disgustingly distorted and drooling, the vocals are raw and cruel, the drums are slow and drawn out, with interesting cymbal plays and breaks.

I can’t specifically compare the songs of the EP to other bands, to me it’s like mixing the old My Dying Bride with Neurosis and Crowbar and pouring it all down the neck with Grave and Entombed from the 90s.”
