Latvian dark metal band Overcast Rain signs with Brutal Records; third album to be released in 2025!

Brutal Records is proud to announce the signing of Overcast Rain, a dark metal band from Liepaya, Latvia! The band is gearing up to release their third album in 2025 via Brutal Records – stay tuned!

The group Overcast Rain has existed in Liepāja since 2014, and during these years it has released two albums: »My God Hates Me« (released March 1, 2022) and »Since You Die« (released July 11, 2020).

Overcast Rain is a Latvian metal band founded in 2014 in Liepaja by Mihails Maslovs (vocals/guitar) and Kolja Kirk (drums). The band began their musical journey in the dark metal style and underwent several changes in the crew over the years. After an initial period with some members, including Viktors Kocanovs (bass) and Daniil Kuznetsov (guitar), they have brought on board new musicians, such as bassist Andris Rozentals and guitarist Andris Alekseevs.

In February 2018, Mihails and Andris Aleksejevs renewed the band, inviting Mark Shirokovs as a drummer. Shortly after, guitarist Markus Rukutis returned, and Daniels Škuburs also joined them on bass guitar. The band decided to abandon female vocals, so Mihails took on the entire vocal part. This cast, with Viktors Kocanovs who later returned to bass, is still intact.

In 2018, the band wrote new material and performed for the first time with the updated composition. They finish second place in the Fresh Blood competition and will release their debut album »Since You Die« in 2020, earning them significant recognition. Their second album, »My God Hates Me«, followed in March 2022, and both albums are inducted into the National Library of Latvia.

Overcast Rain has performed at various festivals and concerts in countries such as Latvia, Malta and Poland, and they have shared the stage with various well-known acts, such as Die Krupps, Rotting Christ, Angelcrypt, Armada and more.

They are currently recording a new album with 13 new songs.
