Maggot Heart and Okkultokrati premiere a brand new tracks from the upcoming split 12″ LP

Maggot Heart and Okkultokrati will release split 12″ LP on September 24th, 2021 via Rapid Eye Records.

Maggot Heart comments: “We were always impressed by how Okkultokrati clearly has such an unique sound and seeing them play every night on tour was a real privilege. They have always shown us a lot of support, and they are the perfect band to share this old-fashioned split format with.”

“Okkultokrati and Maggot Heart bumped heads together while both bands played the Chaos Descends festival in the deep forests of Crispendorf, back in 2017. Sensing a kinship in musical tastes, philosophy and life, Okkultokrati joined Maggot Heart for a few Scandinavian dates in early 2019, and luckily we really hit it off. Sparks did fly, and plans to do stuff together immediately were made. Let there be death-defying, soul-shattering, over-the-top, fire-breathing, devil-may-care rock.” Okkultokrati says.

Two of the European rock underground’s most interesting bands are coming together for an old-fashioned split release, each contributing three songs.

On this self-titled EP, the bands are presenting two sides of the same coin. Okkultokrati delivers huge, fist-pumping, goth-tinged arena metal, conjuring the spirit of Judas Priest and The Sisters Of Mercy, while still being dipped in the same unmistakably Norwegian “black” sound as is their signum. As heavy as it is, there is always a kraut-y, hypnotic element present. Maggot Heart on the other hand, are stripped down and raw, serving what is their punkiest material to date, while still keeping the hook-y choruses and noise rock riffs flowing. Swerving between Patti Smith, Poison Idea and Voivod – their crossover sound is cemented by solid songwriting.

Comes with a printed innersleeve and double-sided poster.

Black and smoky vinyl available, limited to 600 and 400 copies respectively.
