False Gods present the chilling and forlorn new single »Enemy That Never Was«. Shrouded in woven fibers of despair and torment, this haunting instalment explores the emotional wreckage left by the unresolved death of a close family member. Their new album »Lost In Darkness And Distance« is set to emerge from the shadows on July 25th, 2025.

The band comments on the single, stating: “»Enemy That Never Was« is rough as it’s about a very close death in the family. There was a ton of unresolved things that will remain unresolved and it’s the worst fucking thing that has happened to me……for now.”

About False Gods:

Formed in 2015 on Long Island, New York, False Gods are a genre-defying force in modern heavy music. Blending sludge metal’s crushing weight with post-metal atmosphere, NYHC aggression, and the bleak intensity of industrial and post-punk, the band carves out a sound that is both emotionally raw and sonically brutal. Their music shifts seamlessly between towering heaviness, haunting melody, and punishing noise, always grounded in lyrical themes of isolation, grief, and existential dread.

With a lineup featuring Mike Stack – vocals, Greg March – guitar, Devin Stracuzza – bass, and Josh Harrison – drums, False Gods have built a reputation for cathartic live performances and uncompromising songwriting. They’ve shared the stage with heavyweights like Crowbar, EyeHateGod, Conan, and From Autumn To Ashes, and have appeared at festivals including Maryland Doomfest, Grim Reefer Fest, and Ohio Doomed & Stoned.

Their upcoming album, »Lost In Darkness And Distance«, marks their most dynamic and personal work to date, pushing beyond genre lines into something darker, deeper, and more vulnerable.

False Gods do not offer escapism. They reflect reality – unfiltered and unrelenting.
