The band from South Spain presents »Robots«, the first advance single from their highly anticipated second studio album »Las formas de ondas«. The single is now available on all streaming platforms, and comes with a video edited by Juanjo Crespo, combining archival footage to enhance the song’s dystopian atmosphere.
»Robots« is a reflection on the exponential growth of artificial intelligence and its potential to trigger human extinction. The song unfolds like a dark science fiction film: the robot interacts with the human being, absorbing their ego, anger, and fear, until it ends up suffering like them and reaching its own destruction.
The track blends noise, grunge, and post-punk, under the label the band themselves define as expansive rock.
The album: »Las formas de ondas«
The album was recorded and mixed by José Ortega at Ciegos de Sonido Studio, and mastered by Jack Endino, a key figure in the history of rock, responsible for the sound of bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, and Screaming Trees.

»Las formas de ondas« will include, alongside the new tracks, a revisited version of “Vilo”, originally released in the compilation box set ‘Grados, Minutos, Segundos.’ (Spinda Records, 2021), as well as a Spanish-language cover of “Especially Me” by the legendary band Low, with which Medicina pay tribute to the Mimi Parker.
The album will be released on vinyl on March 18, 2026 via Spinda Records, in a limited edition of 300 copies on black vinyl, in collaboration with Loop Records and Not on Label. The vinyl pre-order is already live, coinciding with the release of »Robots«, at spindarecords.com.
More about Medicina
Medicina was formed in late 2012 in Algeciras by Alberto and David, veterans of the local scene with experience in bands such as Ballet Violencia and Xudor Barato. Their sound, which they call expansive rock, fuses shoegaze, grunge, post-punk, and space rock.
In 2018, bassist José “Poti” Moreno (ex-Viaje a 800, Atavismo, and Híbrido) joined the band, solidifying the trio. After self-releasing three EPs, they released their debut album »Turboácido« (2019, Mai Lei Bel), receiving excellent reviews and touring Spain and Austria. In 2021, they contributed the track “Vilo” to a split single with Partícula, included in the box set »Grados. Minutos. Segundos.« by Spinda Records.
Following David’s departure, Simon Vandamme joined on drums, debuting the current lineup with a tribute to Low in 2023.
In 2026, Medicina present their new album »Las formas de ondas«, which consolidates their sonic identity and strengthens their presence in the Spanish underground scene.
