Swiss band Gentle Beast are back with their second album, »Vampire Witch Reptilian Super Soldier« – a fuzz-fueled odyssey that has something in store for every stoner rock fan. The nine tracks pay tribute to the genre’s greatest elements, from driving riffs to doomy bass walls, psychedelic interludes and spherical vocals.

Always with a wink, the lyrics about stoned witches, vengeful buffaloes, roaming mammoths and lost space travellers deliberately leave out no stoner rock clichés. Combined with an examination of serious topics such as meritocracy, climate change and conspiracy theories, the record also aims to strike a critical note.

After being adrift for ages, a space traveller finally reaches a new planet that turns out to be just another desolate world rather than a livable haven. With its driving riffs and raw vocals, the third single from Swiss stoner rockers Gentle Beast’s forthcoming album is as in-your-face as it gets. Prepare for a hard landing!

Gentle Beast – these are fuzzy, brutal desert rock riffs paired with psychedelic cosmic sounds. Just as the name suggests, a lovechild between mystical gentleness and wild beast. Carried by frontman Timo Dinter’s dusty voice and the distorted guitar walls of Manuel Ciofalo and Janek Huschke, Alexander Streit on drums and Tobias Rickli on bass have completed the band for around two years. It has always been clear to the Basel dudes that they want to do more than just generic stoner rock. The live shows of these friendly beasts are correspondingly varied. Collective head-nodding, dancing with a giant plush joint or jumping into the audience for the final Kyuss cover are the order of the day.
