Swiss tribal stoner rock quartet Gora Mama releases their new album »By The Fire« today on vinyl and all digital streaming platforms!

Vevey, Switzerland based tribal stoner rockers Gora Mama stream their new album, »By The Fire«, which was just released today, October 25th, 2024 on vinyl and all digital streaming platforms.

After the release of their two singles »Ötzi« and »Mammoth«, that were warmly welcomed by audiences and the media, Swiss-based band Gora Mama is set to release »By The Fire«. This tribal stoner rock album tells stories that would have been shared around ancient hearths by our ancestors.

“We wanted »By The Fire« to be a night of festivity where the storyteller of the tribe explains where their cultures and rites are coming from, to show everyone why the strength that unite is stronger than the one that divides,” Gora Mama explains. “We have been inspired by various local legends as well as archaeological findings and interpreted them in a way that we think could speak to everyone”.

About twice a year, Gora Mama retreated to a small mountain chalet for long weekends to work on the album. They spent time reading legends, visiting historically significant places, and crafting the lyrics and the demo songs that would become »By The Fire«. This record will also mark the change in Gora Mama’s lineup, as this is the first album featuring Seb (vocals) and Alex (guitar).

Recorded and mixed by their sound engineer Romain Equey, who has previously worked with renowned artists like Mark Kelly, »By The Fire« showcases Gora Mama’s evolution as a band. From heavy riffs to airy melodies under the tribe’s drum, supported by a powerful voice, the album explores a heavy but chilly stoner rock and marks the third release with their new lineup.

Gora Mama is a tribal stoner rock band inspired by the mysteries of nature, history and human tribes through the ages. Lyrics delve into the enigmatic links between humans and various beliefs, legends and rituals, pondering questions ranging from the fate of Ötzi to the transcendence of animals into gods.
