Tales Of Mike unveil a lyric video for »RIP (Landscape Of Sorrow)«; debut EP »Landscape Of Sorrow« out now!

International epic doom/death metal solo project Tales Of Mike has unveiled a lyric video for »RIP (Landscape Of Sorrow)« taken from the debut EP, »Landscape Of Sorrow«, which was just released on August 9th, 2023.

Mastermind Michael Heß comments: “On our EP release day, I’m happy to publish the official lyric video of »RIP (Landscape Of Sorrow)« made by John Kaimakamis!”

“I would like to thank everyone who contributed to making this tribute EP for my brother Markus and releasing it on his birthday!

Thank you Gonzalo Civita for your incredible vocals. I was also very happy that Henrik Schaller, who I have known for years now, immediately agreed to contribute the solos. The production by Matias Takaya is just perfect.

I would also like to mention Valentina who has created simply brilliant single covers and the pictures of the lyric video.

And last but not least I would like to thank my daughter Shannon who wrote the lyrics. It was a pleasure to work with such friendly and nice people. Thank you very much!” Michael adds.

Born in 1972, Michael Heß discovered his love for metal at the age of 10, when he ran past a radio which played »I Love Rock ‘N Roll« by Joan Jett.

In 2003, he finally bought his first e-guitar which started a whole new era for Michael. Years of practice, fun and more followed.

In December 2022, Michael started recording demo-songs for the first time. He made it his mission to write a tribute song to his late brother Markus Heß and eventually got into touch with Gonzalo Civita from the bands Heléh and Tribal who agreed to sing to this song. Their work went really well and good memories and fun led to them establishing even more songs together. This became an EP!

Michael’s first EP, »Landscape Of Sorrow«, was released on the 9th August 2023, on Markus Heß’ birthday, given the fact it is also dedicated to him.

“All of my songs sound different, but they all tell stories. They all tell different stories, and that’s what is important to me.”
