Tunisian experimental ambient drone/doom metal act The Scientist presents debut EP »Drone Chemistry«

Manouba, Tunisia based experimental ambient drone/doom metal project The Scientist presents one-track debut EP, »Drone Chemistry«, which was released on May 31st, 2025.
Tracklist:
01. Drone Chemistry (22:00)
»Drone Chemistry« drifts through the warped perceptions of a lone scientist deep in an otherworldly forest. With layers of heavy drone, immersive ambient textures, and doom-infused undertones, the track captures a surreal journey where reality bends and nature pulses with strange, hypnotic energy. Each sound unfolds like a hallucinatory discovery, dissonant, organic, and alive with eerie purpose.
»Drone Chemistry« also is a slow-burning exploration of tone and texture, built around sustained low-end drones, thick reverb layers, and minimal harmonic movement. The track opens with a deep, monolithic bass foundation, gradually enveloped by dissonant synth swells and filtered noise textures that evolve like fog creeping through trees. Bass is used more as sound source than melodic instruments, bowed, stretched, and heavily processed to dissolve into the ambient wash. Tempo is nearly absent, replaced by tectonic pacing and long decays that create a feeling of suspended time. Subtle modulations and granular textures evoke the sensation of altered perception, as if the forest itself is breathing, shifting, and communicating in strange frequencies.
