Formed in 2012 Goat Monsoon’s name was created from some studio banter, after someone had suggested “Ghost Monsoon” as a name. With the changing of a few letters Goat Monsoon was created! With a couple of line-up changes and successful support slots, including Slabdragger in 2014 and Orange Goblin in 2015, Goat Monsoon were becoming very much noticed on the scene. Fast forward to 2017, when due to personal circumstances the vocalist left, and with the addition of Mike the current line-up of Goat Monsoon was born.
With their sound forged from Doom, Stoner and Groove metal Goat Monsoon began to swamp the scene with their “no trends, no bullshit, just sweet heavy music” attitude, to great acclaim. Landing support slots with Paradise Lost and Outshine in February 2018; the mighty Crowbar and Ingested in September 2018; and Godthrymm in July 2019.
In 2019 Goat Monsoon won the Metal 2 the Masses (Essex) band competition and played the Hobgoblin stage at the Bloodstock Festival, receiving boundless reception from the audience and media alike.
In the midst of these successful support slots and shows Goat Monsoon released their first single on Spotify: »I Was Here« in 2018, followed by their second single »Shake Me Down« in 2019 and their EP »Alpha Kings« followed shortly after in 2019.
Goat Monsoon continues to grow as a band: in sound, in stature and fan base.
