Regina unleashes a dark, modern cover of Black Sabbath’s »N.I.B.« for »Uruguayan Sabbath« tribute compilation!
Regina, the Montevideo-based alternative rock/metal band known for their heavy atmospheres and raw emotional intensity, presents their powerful new cover of Black Sabbath’s classic »N.I.B.«. The track is part of »Uruguayan Sabbath«, a tribute compilation curated by Doom For The Nations, featuring local bands reimagining iconic Black Sabbath songs through their own sonic identities.
Regina’s take on »N.I.B.« is dark, modern, and crushingly heavy, honoring Tony Iommi’s legendary riff while pushing it into new territory. The band blends synthetic atmospheric textures, sludgy weight, and a progressive metal breakdown that highlights their signature sense of sonic “dwelling”: immersive, introspective, and relentless. The result is a version that respects the original while unmistakably sounding like Regina.

Formed in Montevideo, Regina has quickly emerged as a standout act in the Uruguayan alternative metal scene. Their sound is ethereal yet explosive, rooted in grunge and alternative metal but shaped by a deeply personal aesthetic connected to feminine essence, rage, and dark sensitivity. This emotional duality has become a defining element of the band’s identity.
The release of »N.I.B.« follows the band’s debut album, »Liminal Space«, an ambitious conceptual project released on September 12 across all streaming platforms. The album invites listeners to inhabit uncertainty and transformation, pushing the boundaries of Uruguayan rock into new sonic, emotional, and thematic territories.
Regina has performed at iconic venues throughout Montevideo, earned recognition at festivals such as Movida Joven, and competed in the 2024 Wacken Metal Battle Uruguay, further solidifying their presence within the regional metal scene.
With their contribution to »Uruguayan Sabbath«, Regina not only pays tribute to one of metal’s foundational bands, but also reaffirms their role as a forward-thinking force in contemporary heavy music.
