On their latest outing, »Smother / Obituary«, Onsetter brings back their blistering brand of hardcore featuring the usual hardcore suspects but with new industrial approaches, soft-loud dynamic builds, and spectral atmosphere. Disdain for the world’s horrors revolted with spitting snarl from the biting vocals and lyrics of frontman Thomas Wilson, to the instrumental brutality architected by guitarists Tyler Squire and A.J. Duthie. Featuring a new rhythm section of Boise-metal veteran bassist and drummer combo, Marco Gonzalez and Sam Raymond, sonically polished with the mixing and engineering talents of And A., Andy Nelsen, and Chris Commons, this is their best-sounding, most aggressive, and most technical outing yet.
