Doomed Confessionary: JC, Joey, Jay & Nate (Witch Hound)

Witch Hound is a stoner/doom metal band hailing from Colorado Springs, Colorado. They have released their debut EP »Starting A Coven« on July 24th, 2025. Available now on all major streaming platforms.

Witch Hound consists of Jeramie Crabtree (lead vocals), Joey Cherry (lead guitar), Willy Palma (rhythm guitar, vocals), Jay Carman (bass) and Nate Driggs (drums).

Can you please say a few words about your band?
We’ve been blown away by the love and support from our local scene. Colorado truly has some of the best heavy music fans anywhere. Witch Hound was born out of that energy – we’re proud to be part of it, and we can’t wait to share our sound with the rest of the world.

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Joey: Probably just finding free time. We pour a lot into writing, promoting, and playing music, and there’s never quite enough hours in the day.

Nate: Balancing music and life – we’ve all got families and other passions, but Witch Hound is that one thing we’re all fully invested in. It’s where our collective fire lives.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Releasing our debut EP was a huge milestone. It represents who we are, what we sound like, and the foundation for what’s coming next. It’s something we’ll always be proud of.

What was your biggest regret?
We don’t really carry regrets – just lessons. This past year tested us in all the right ways. We came out tighter, stronger, and more focused than ever. We’re ready to bring our sound to the masses the only way we know how: heavy, low, and slow.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Our first show will always hold a special place – even though JC wasn’t with us yet, it set the tone. Then came our second show, the first with JC at the helm, and that’s when Witch Hound clicked. Those two nights shaped who we are and how we move forward.

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
The sheer amount of support we’ve gotten so early on. You always hope people will connect with your music, but seeing it actually happen – seeing faces in the crowd nodding along – that’s been a really humbling and energizing surprise.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
Joey: Torche, Mars Red Sky, CKY.

Nate: Miss Lava, Slomosa, Margarita Witch Cult.

JC: 1000mods, Goatsnake, Deftones.

Jay: Type O Negative, Mono Lord, Witch Hound.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Keep playing. Whether you’re jamming with friends, writing riffs, or just vibing to your favorite bands – music is always there. It’ll carry you through anything if you let it.

What are your guilty pleasures?
Joey: A big bucket of popcorn, Itchy & Scratchy reruns, and laughing myself stupid.

Nate: Board games, squishmallows, Masego, Winston Surfshirt – a little Wax, a little R&B and hip-hop to keep the groove alive.

Jay: Christian Death, NINE, Death In June.

JC: Late night milkshake runs, AFV reels.

Can you say something more about the current music scene in Colorado?
Colorado’s scene is thriving. Between Colorado Springs and Denver, there’s always something heavy happening. It wasn’t always like this – it’s taken a lot of dedicated people to keep the fire burning. We’re just grateful to be part of it right now.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We’ll be holding it down in Colorado for the rest of the year – mainly Colorado Springs and Denver – but plans are in motion to break out soon. Keep an eye on our Instagram for show announcements.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
To record and release our first full-length record, and start taking Witch Hound beyond Colorado’s borders. The world deserves a proper dose of the Hound.

How can people best support your band?
Come to shows – that’s the heartbeat of what we do. If you can’t make it, tell a friend, follow us online, and grab our music on Bandcamp. We love connecting with people, so don’t be shy – reach out and let us know where you’re from.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
To everyone who’s shown us love – thank you. We see you, we appreciate you, and we can’t wait to raise the volume with you at the next show. Stay heavy, stay weird, and keep the Hound howling.
