Adiós Cometa are back with »Luminosa«, the stunning final teaser from their upcoming third studio album »Un destello de luz«, arriving January 29th, 2026 on Spinda Records.
Following the melancholic embrace of »El mundo en mis brazos (Leonor)« – featuring Argentine band Fin del Mundo – Adiós Cometa now presents »Luminosa«, the final single before the release of their highly anticipated album »Un destello de luz«, which will be out on January 29th, 2026 via Spinda Records ‘Noisy Series’ (Spain), in collaboration with Steadfast Records (USA) and Furia (Costa Rica).
»Luminosa« delves into themes of loss, acceptance, and hope, weaving together distorted guitars, delicate arpeggios, and vocals that shift between anguish and calm – drawing from the band’s signature blend of shoegaze and introspective emo influences.
“It’s a song that, whether you want to or not, you have to face. That anguish, so deeply human, is inevitable. Even though I didn’t set out to write specifically about that, it’s a feeling that permeates much of what I write,” — Jonathan Villalobos (Adiós Cometa)

The single will be accompanied by a music video directed by Camarote Films, shot in Mexico City using 16mm, 8mm, and digital formats. The video portrays a symbolic journey between life and death, a liminal space where the protagonist finally finds rest and peace.
A final glimpse of Un destello de luz
With »Luminosa«, Adiós Cometa closes the cycle of previews leading up to their third studio album, »Un destello de luz«. Prior to this release, the band unveiled two singles that each marked a distinct stage in their sonic evolution:
»Candelaria«, released in August, marked their first collaboration with Andalusian label Spinda Records and served as their official introduction to the European audience. With a rawer and more visceral sound, the track explored the fury of 1990s shoegaze alongside a post-punk sensitivity tinged with emotion.
»El mundo en mis brazos (Leonor)«, released in October and featuring Lucía Masnatta of Argentina’s Fin del Mundo, revealed the group’s more introspective and melancholic side, consolidating their international presence with premieres on KEXP (US), Radio 3 (ES), Idioteq (PO), La Bestia Radio (MX), and Amplify Radio (CR).
Together with »Luminosa«, these tracks form part of the emotional universe of »Un destello de luz«, an album that reaffirms Adiós Cometa’s commitment to an expansive, emotional, and deeply human form of shoegaze.
