Mortal Blood is a one-man heavy metal project by Dan Krell. The music is heavy, melodic, and immersive. Music influences include a variety of doom, gothic, death, and black metal.

Mortal Blood continues to evolve its doom metal foundation into darker and more expansive territory. »Vigil For A Hollowed Earth« deepens the project’s blend of doom, gothic, black, and death metal, emphasizing atmosphere, melody, and emotional weight alongside crushing heaviness.

Clean and gothic vocal passages drift through sorrow-laden soundscapes, while death-doom and extreme vocals cut sharply through dense, oppressive arrangements. Across its ten tracks, the album moves between poetic mourning and suffocating intensity, creating a heavy, immersive listening experience that favors mood and gravity over excess. These themes are presented through compositions built on sustained tension, pacing, and layered textures.
