An atmospheric horror universe brought to life through hard-hitting music and melodic storytelling.

On March 10, Witchfang released their debut album »Dead Rat City« – a concept album blending dark themes, massive riffs, and infectious vocals into a single, cohesive story about a city in decay. The music is crafted as a continuous narrative, with each track serving as a chapter in the unfolding tale.

The band’s previously released singles form key parts of the album’s universe, playing an essential role in the larger story that unfolds throughout the record.

Witchfang fuses horror storytelling, dark atmosphere, and guitar-driven rock into a unified artistic vision. Rather than a collection of standalone songs, the band has created a fully realized world where sounds, themes, and moods are tightly interwoven.

The band describes »Dead Rat City« as a horror movie told through sound.

“We wanted to write the story for a horror film, but bring it to life through music. »Dead Rat City« is our way of creating a world you can both hear and feel.”

It all began with a single melody and one line of lyrics, and grew into a full-length album.

Witchfang formed spontaneously in a dimly lit rock bar in Kolding, Denmark, where the friends Rasmus and Kristian came up with the idea for the band late one night. Rasmus hummed a melody and sang a single line, which Kristian recorded on his phone – and by the very next day, the songwriting had begun. That moment sparked their first single, »Dead Rat City«, which quickly evolved into the vision of a full album, built as a horror-inspired concept story told through music.

When Mads and Steffan later joined the band in the rehearsal room, Witchfang’s sound truly began to take shape. Blending elements of stoner, doom, and hard rock with memorable, melody-driven vocals, the band describes their sound as a mix between Black Sabbath and Ghost, but with a wide range of influences that color each track in different shades of black. Despite their relatively short time on the live stage, Witchfang has already opened for acts including Skinlab (US) and Thus (DK), and will continue to bring their sound to the stage throughout 2026.
