“With »The Lighthouse Session II«, we again present a calm, acoustic re-imagination of songs from our catalogue that we revisit in their own weight and identity,” lead guitarist Indee Rehal-Sagoo explained. “At the core, our idea is to breathe new life into familiar compositions by immersing them within a melancholic atmosphere, reshaped textures, and letting fragility and space do the heavy lifting. Although the songs are mostly changed into acoustic entities, the emotional impact remains crushing, intimate, and powerful. On a conceptual, spiritual level, both »Lighthouse Session« carry the same symbolism: they are supposed to act as a beacon for those who dwell in the dark. We do not wish to dispel that or try to force people out, but to offer a direction within. In the »Lighthouse« these songs are reborn. The light can help lost souls to navigate through grief and silence, and towards something truthful. In that sense, »The Lighthouse Session II« continues and deepens this concept. Music as a shelter for the tears that both our listeners and we ourselves shed.”

Saturnus stand as one of Denmark’s greatest musical exports, a death/doom institution forged in Copenhagen in 1993 and revered across the global metal landscape. For over thirty years, they have crafted some of the most emotionally devastating, majestically heavy and unmistakably soulful music in the genre. From brooding riffs to soaring melodies and a signature blend of harsh, clean, and spoken vocals, Saturnus dig deep into themes of loss, longing and the shadowed corners of the soul. Few bands channel such profound darkness with such beauty.

Their discography reads like a roadmap of European doom itself. From the monumental debut »Paradise Belongs To You« (1997) through to »Martyre« (2000), the legendary »Veronika Decides To Die« (2006) and »Saturn In Ascension« (2012). All accompanied by beautiful atmospheric EPs »For The Loveless Lonely Nights« (1998) and »The Lighthouse Session« (2022), Saturnus have shaped the genre’s very identity. These releases remain essential listening and albums that musicians cite, fans cherish and critics return to time and again.

In 2023 Saturnus roared back with the heavier and brooding album »The Storm Within«, released by Prophecy Productions and co-produced alongside their legendary studio partner Flemming Rasmussen (Metallica) at Sweet Silence Studios. The album entered the Danish Albums Top 40 and held its place above other renown acts.

The group earned a GAFFA nomination for “Best Album 2023” and received many top album spots across globe. This reaffirmed what the devoted already knew, Saturnus are not just veterans…they are leaders, innovators and masters of their craft.

On stage Saturnus have long been hailed as a commanding and immersive live force, masters of atmosphere who transform venues into cathedrals of emotion. Their performances are powerful, magnetic and unforgettable, drawing in crowds across the world. They have co-headlined with many established acts in the industry and taken their beautifully crushing presence to top-tier festivals including Roskilde, Copenhell, Brutal Assault, Rockstadt Extreme Fest and Candelabrum Metal Fest, where audiences consistently call them the highlight of the night.

Last year, the next chapter unfolded as Saturnus joined Swallow The Sun for a UK & Ireland tour, while bringing their storm to the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise and supported the legendary Paradise Lost across Europe before returning to the solitude of their next creative endeavor.
