Ēlūcescentia’s new four-track EP »Symmetria« available now on limited edition cassette and digital!

Jyväskylä, Finland based alternative/shoegaze/post-rock band Ēlūcescentia stream their new EP, »Symmetria«, which was just released this Friday, April 3rd, 2026 in cassette and digital formats.

»Symmetria« is Ēlūcescentia’s four-song EP, out on cassette as well as digitally on April 3, 2026.

Ēlūcescentia challenged themselves to dig into the core with these songs, peeling everything non-essential. The massive and layered sound had to be preserved nonetheless. »Symmetria« glimmers colourfully and it takes you both to that safe place at your nearby pond and all the way to the breathtaking nebulas far beyond. The voice heard on Ēlūcescentia’s shoegaze sings in Finnish. EP’s title »Symmetria« (eng: symmetry) refers to balance and harmony in relationships. That harmonic relationship is sought in the texts for all kinds of relations: to a partner, to other humans, to oneself or even to the surrounding nature. Symmetry is found on Janette Leino’s cover art as well.

Biography:
Petteri Särmälä and Jussa Palve formed Ēlūcescentia at the beginning of 2020. The name is Latin and translates to ”dawn” and ”shining forth”. This band is all about taking the sounds of post-rock and shoegaze and creating something original with them. Just like in post-rock, we use distortion, noise and reverb and turn them into something beautiful. We have never however followed closely the traditional sound of post-rock. It serves solely as an inspiration – a beacon.

On 2023 we released Vuoret jotka laskeutuivat taivaasta; a spontaneously formed album that can be found only from the depths of internet. It serves as an introduction to our band and this sound. From that year onwards we have played live too.

The members of Ēlūcescentia are underground veterans whose other bands are Kuilu and Multishiva among others. The member’s other habits include for example theater and constructing effects pedals.
