First EP, first release, certainly, but so much generosity with 6 tracks that immediately testify to an assertive and ultra-refreshing identity. It has to be said that Clément Decuypere and Jérémy Hourdoir have put all their guts and passion into their work, and have fashioned a body of sound unheard of in the genre. The colossal 6-string bass riffs are gorged with reverb, spouting from amps made from salvaged materials, and set about breaking a few necks. All of this in concert with a tightly wound drumming, in total symbiosis with its ally instrument. The strokes are heavy, but there’s no shortage of subtleties.

Clément’s voice, equally comfortable between howlings from beyond the grave and ethereal vocals, purges all his frustration. Cathartic lyrics, evoking experiences and feelings, anger at the injustices of the world, but also self-acceptance. For once, there’s a great deal of humanity in this music, which is tempestuous and aggressive in many ways. Nvage has a lot to offer, so don’t miss out!
