American doom n’ roll duo Sixyearhex unleashes new single and music video »When The Darkness Shines«!

North Wilkesboro, North Carolina based doom n’ roll rockers Sixyearhex return with the first glimpse of their upcoming full-length album. Emerging from the shadows with a sound forged in molten riffs and melodic defiance, Sixyearhex returns with »When The Darkness Shines«, a brand-new single dropping October 22nd, 2025 on Bandcamp and all major streaming platforms. This marks the first release from the band’s upcoming full-length album, slated for Spring 2026.

Known for their signature fusion of sludgy stoner doom and soaring rock n’ roll vocals, this new Sixyearhex track picks up the pace, and is an exciting addition to the band’s heavy yet hypnotic sound. The track tells the story of a couple on the brink, searching for escape from a collapsing world. With themes of love, survival, and a looming catastrophe, the single captures a moment of grim beauty in the face of annihilation.

“This song came from a place of reckoning,” says the band. “It’s about two people realizing the world around them is doomed, trying to find meaning – maybe even salvation – in each other.”

Alongside the single, a music video, filmed and directed by Jared C. Shumate, will also premiere on release day, visually capturing the song’s dark narrative and sonic intensity.

»When The Darkness Shines« is the first taste of what’s to come on the band’s next album – a record that promises to push the limits of their doom n’ roll sound even further, marrying bleak atmospheres with hook-laden melody and raw emotional weight.
