Sun Mantra unleashes ferocious double single »Fertilizer / Wrath« – a psychedelic doom statement from Knoxville’s heavy underground!

Knoxville, TN’s rising doom trio Sun Mantra delivers a crushing blow to the senses with their new double single release, »Fertilizer / Wrath«, available now as of April 4, 2025. The latest offering builds on the momentum of their acclaimed debut single Cosmic Law and cements their place in the modern doom scene with a fierce blend of heavy psychedelia and soul-wrecking doom riffs.

Sun Mantra, formed in the summer of 2023 by drummer Leo Dyer (ex-Summoners Circle, Mountain King) and guitarist Josh Drinnen, found their full voice when Harrison Hammett joined on bass and vocals. Together, the trio became a sonic force of nature – delivering thunderous riffs, pounding drums, and vocals that cut like a ritual blade. Their sound is equal parts raw, hypnotic, and transcendental.

On »Fertilizer / Wrath«, the band traverses a chaotic spectrum of doom metal and psychedelic rock.

»Fertilizer« crashes forward with gritty distortion, snarling vocals, and a muscular rhythm section that drives into sludge-laden territories, culminating in a hypnotic yet pummeling wall of sound.

»Wrath« shifts gears into a more experimental space, weaving psychedelic textures with explosive bursts of aggression—highlighting the band’s knack for tension, contrast, and unrelenting heaviness.

Recorded and engineered by Danielle Fehr of The Wizard Productions, and co-produced with the band, all three of Sun Mantra’s released tracks (»Cosmic Law«, »Fertilizer«, and »Wrath«) showcase the band’s meticulous attention to sonic density and raw, unfiltered emotion.

Sun Mantra has already made a powerful impression at Metal Chaos Fest and the Tennessee Metal Devastation Music Fest 2024 – where they are also slated to return in 2025. The band is now preparing for a highly anticipated performance at Maryland Doom Fest 2025, continuing to captivate audiences with their immersive and ritualistic live shows.
