Zebulon is an epic doom metal band from Jæren, Norway. Formed in 2022, the quintet consists of Kristian Nessa (vocals), Torstein Fuhr (guitar), Kenneth Olsen (guitar), Oddmund Solheim (bass) and Frode Efteland (drums).

Zebulon’s debut album »Come Day Of Reckoning« was released on November 7th, 2025 via Apollon Records. Mixed by Iver Sandøy (Enslaved), »Come Day Of Reckoning« delivers slow-burning doom with crushing riffs, dramatic vocals, and haunting melodies. The material explores themes of judgement and faith.

Can you please say a few words about your band?
We are Zebulon, from the west coast of Norway, we play doom metal of the epic kind, drawing inspirations from bands like Candlemass and Trouble, among others.

We started writing songs in 2022 and completed the lineup in april 2023. Released a two song single in 2024, and followed it up with our debut full-length »Come Day Of Reckoning« in November 2025.

We are five members:
Torstein – Guitar
Oddmund – Bass
Kristian – Vocals
Frode – Drums
Kenneth – Guitar

What was the biggest challenge for the band?
Finding a vocalist. We were on the lookout for over a year until our mate, and bandmate from earlier bands Kristian said he would like to give it a go, which was a surprise, because we didn’t know he could sing, but it worked out perfectly in the end.

What can you be most proud of so far?
Recording and relasing an album has to be up there. We worked together with incredible people: Tollak Friested from the band Skambankt who recorded the album and having Iver Sandøy from Enslaved to mix it. We couldn’t have asked for better help and guidance with what was for most of us, our first go in a pro studio. Also having Apollon Records releasing it and be a part of their impressive roster.

What was the best concert/tour so far and why?
Playing the New Blood stage at Bloodstock last year was for me the the biggest highlight so far. We won the Norwegian leg of the Metal 2 The Masses competition and earned a spot on the line-up of one of the coolest festivals I have ever been to. Playing in England and meeting the people there definitely made us want to come back, and we will in May!

What was the biggest surprise on the music scene for you?
How cool, welcoming and inclusive the people are. There seems to be a strong creed between everyone in the scene, and people are ready to step up and help out when needed. We love that togetherness and try to pay back whenever we can.

What is currently in your heavy musical rotation?
»Naglet til Livet« by Jordsjuk. A incredible new Norwegian band with roots in black metal. Was also recently nominated for the Norwegian Grammys.

»A Dark Poem, Part I: The Shores Of Melancholia« by Green Carnation. A masterpiece from a legendary band, looking forward to the release of Part II.

What was the best advice you’ve ever been given as a musician?
Play together with people. I have never been the one to sit alone for hours practicing, so for me to get together and play stuff has been fundamental to how I have been able to evolve musically.

What are your guilty pleasures?
I have a soft spot for Boney M 😀

Can you say something more about the current music scene on the southwest coast of Norway?
We are located near Stavanger in Norway, where there is a bunch of great bands, and a few, but really good venues. Bands like Kal-El, Karavan, Svart Hav, Captain Caravan are all local to us.

Where can we see you live this year (concerts/tours)?
We are playing the Elements Of Rock festival 14th of March in Uster, Switzerland.

And we have a England tour coming up in May, which we very much look forward to.
May 5th – The Lady Luck, Canterbury
May 6th – The Gryphon, Bristol
May 7th – The Wheatsheaf, Oxford
May 8th – Helgi’s, London
May 9th – Daltons, Brighton Doom By The Sea Vol. 5

We are also playing some local shows and festivals throughout the year here in Norway.

What are your plans for the future as a band?
We are writing material for what will be our second album, we don’t have a timeframe yet, but hope to complete the writing process sometime this year. Combining that with playing for as many people as we can, and spread our music wherever people are open for it.

How can people best support your band?
Of course coming to our shows is a really good way to support any band, but if you are nowhere near where we play, then we have lots of cool merch, vinyl, CD and cassete available through our Bandcamp or DM us on either Instagram or Facebook.

Do you have any message for your listeners?
Thanks for checking out our music, and for all the kind feedback we have been getting, we love you all <3
