Ingrina is the name of a memory. The one linked to a feeling of vital ecstasy that this civilization tries to erase from the living. It is also the name of an escape. The one that rushes toward less hostile otherworlds where time is transcended. Ingrina is the flickering form taken by the experience of a desertion that is always unfinished but so desperately desired.

Stratifying their sounds like geological layers: a drum kit traces the tectonic movement, three guitars overlap until their outlines blur, a bass vibrates the buried strata, and voices emerge like distant echoes from a world that does not exist. Ingrina is an attempt to give voice to the melancholy trapped between all that is collapsing and all that is beginning to emerge.

»Etter Lys«, their debut album, describes the ordeal that life forms undergo when confronted with total colonization by flows and currents. The liquidation of landmarks, the dissolution of knowledge, the eventual abandonment, and then, emergence.

»Siste Lys«, their sophomore effort, revisiting fragments of the past, recounts the reappearance of the jailers, the walls, and the present. This dark veil that obscures movement transforms the last rays of light into an ecstasy whose memory must fight to endure.

»Nåværende Lys«, the third and final installment of the trilogy, celebrates the moment the bars give way. Life forms have fractured the civilizational ice and now run free to their own excess. Power is nothing but inert ashes in the face of a vitality that knows no bounds. It is the time of flames, where the present spreads without expectation or hope. This is the final point of Ingrina’s metaphorical narrative, completing a geological cycle in which life forms have gone through drowning, petrification, and then uprooting.

Like the first two opuses, this album is built on a narrative that propels life forms beyond the confines that hold them back. After traversing the colonizing floods of »Etter Lys« and the icy confinement of »Siste Lys«, after the emergence hinted at in »Ice Flares«, existence finally unfolds without limits.

»Nåværende Lys« celebrates a vibrant present where walls, borders, and prisons have been abolished. Time is no longer structured around waiting or hope but spreads through flames, consuming the old cycles of oppression. Power has been reduced to inert ashes, a powerless spectator of a vitality that is now irreversible. In this fragile reality, stripped of its certainties, life forms finally run free to their fullest potential.

This is the story of what happens when the bars break and the vital flow is unhindered.

Composed, recorded, mixed, and mastered by the band over four years, »Nåværende Lys« maintains the ethereal, dense, and immersive style of Ingrina’s other works, running counter to the productivist logic and frenetic schedules that govern today’s music scene. The band chose retreat and slowness, refusing to yield to the demands of constant flux. In a time when everything is collapsing, this patience was not an option but a condition of existence: allowing the sonic material to emerge outside of imposed rhythms and norms, so that this album could exist according to its own time and take root in resourcefulness and DIY practices.
