»Circling Further Down« was born from the collaboration of Simone Calvo (guitar), Luca Mauro (bass), and Mattia Fenoglio (drums), young musicians eager to give voice to their creativity and express themselves through their music.

The sound is rooted in the New York noise rock scene (Unsane, Jesus Lizard, Helmet, Melvins), while the lyrics reflect the emotions, struggles, and experiences of young musicians in provincial Italy: hard work, exhausting shifts, cultural isolation, and the lack of spaces for artistic expression.

Originally released on November 6th, 2014, and co-produced by several Italian labels, the album was followed by a tour of around 100 shows across the country.

In 2024, for its tenth anniversary, the band – now featuring Enrico Reineri on drums and Francesco Martinat on bass – decided to rework the original tracks to make them sound as they had originally envisioned. This resulted in a fully remixed and remastered edition, with a more mature sound reflecting the band’s growth and evolving tastes over the years.

Flying Disk formed in 2010 in Fossano, Province of Cuneo, from the idea of Simone Calvo, Mattia Fenoglio, and Luca Mauro. Just over eighteen and passionate about punk and hardcore, the trio drew strong inspiration from the local Canalese Noise scene, including bands such as Dead Elephant, Cani Sciorrì, Ruggine, and many others.

Between 2012 and 2014, they recorded a demo and their debut album, »Circling Further Down«, produced by Francesco “Frankie” Groppo and co-released by several Italian labels including Dio Drone, Dreamingorilla, and Taxi Driver Rec. Following these releases, the band performed over 60 shows throughout Italy in 2015.

In 2017, after a lineup change bringing Enrico Reineri on drums, they released »Urgency« on CD and vinyl. This album marked a turning point, with a more defined and personal sound. It was published by a network of DIY labels across the USA, Italy, France, and Switzerland, with artwork by illustrator “Solo Macello,” who has since handled all the band’s visuals. A tour across Italy and Europe followed the release.

At the end of 2022, the EP »In The Heart Of The City« was released, recorded in the band’s studio by Francesco Martinat, who had taken over on bass two years prior. The EP reflects years of sonic and stylistic research, aiming to break free from genre labels and achieve an original sound. Mastering was handled by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche) at Sound Artillery Studio in Miami, Florida (USA). The EP was released by Karma Conspiracy Records (IT), Araki Records (FR), Urgence Disk (CH), and Forbidden Place Rec (USA). Its release was supported by a tour across Italy and Europe, including prestigious festivals and venues such as Heavy Psych Sound Fest, Hiroshima Mon Amour in Turin, and Bloom in Mezzago. In 2023, the band reached over 70,000 Spotify streams.

Throughout their career, Flying Disk have shared stages and festivals with acts including Agnostic Front, Mondo Generator, Nebula, Messa, Unida, Elder, Big Business, Nick Oliveri, Zu, Uzeda, Acid Mother Temple, Mos Generator, Cripple Bastards, Bull Brigade, Frammenti, Hawks, OvO, Zeus!, Ornaments, Lili Refrain, Ronin, Hierophant, Mombu, Movie Star Junkies, Questions, Marnero, Storm{O}, Riviera, Hobos, Levante, Bianco, Cosmo, and many others.
