Hermit Dreams is a new experimental death/doom metal band from Norway, featuring experienced musicians from a wide array of metal bands from the national scene, current and past. The band explores topics revolving around loneliness, anxiety, fear, transience, wonder and confusion in the context of death metal with elements of doom and progressive outbursts.

Musically, the band takes death/doom into strange and uncharted places fusing traditional heaviness with banjo, cello, upright bass, and theremin, alongside harsh vocals and pummeling drums. The result is an unsettling yet mesmerizing soundscape, pushing the boundaries of extreme metal while remaining steeped in darkness.

Releasing on December 5th, 2025 on CD/Digital and early 2026 on Cassette and LP, »Desperate Anomies« stands as a powerful debut – bleak, introspective, and uncompromising.
