Originally released only once on vinyl, »Crush The Cenotaph« marks a decisive moment in the creation of Asphyx’s legendary album The Rack. With studio and live recordings, the typical Asphyx sound was cemented here – for the first time with Martin van Drunen’s unmistakable vocal style. An essential piece of death metal history that now returns in a worthy form.

Remastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony Studios and specially prepared for vinyl in Full Dynamic Range sound, the tracks on this EP now form, for the first time, a cohesive and unified whole – with a new, uncompromising and brutally direct intensity.

The cover painting by Axel Hermann was specially rescanned in high resolution for this edition, and the entire artwork meticulously reworked. Countless new details have emerged, while the original color palette now lends the artwork noticeably greater depth. The complete overhaul – from audio to visuals – was carried out in close collaboration with the band.

Originally released on vinyl only once, »Crush The Cenotaph« marks a defining moment in the creation of the legendary »The Rack« album by Asphyx. Combining studio and live recordings, it cemented the band’s trademark sound – for the first time featuring the unmistakable vocal style of Martin van Drunen (ex-Pestilence, ex-Bolt Thrower, ex-Hail Of Bullets, Grand Supreme Blood Court, Rotten Casket). An essential piece of death metal history, now returned in a form worthy of its legacy.
