M.E.L.T. is a Pittsburgh-based fuzz rock band formed by Joey Troupe, JJ Young, and James May – three seasoned musicians with a diverse range of experience in the music industry. In 2021, M.E.L.T. released their self-titled debut and performed live for the first time, quickly making a name for themselves in Pittsburgh music for their lively stage presence and extraterrestrial-inspired aesthetic.
“Geomagnetic storms, ruinous ideologies, and existential turmoil rage across time and space, fomenting disorder, division, and dread. The specter of mere existence, let alone experience, charges a cognitive toll that has come due with an outstanding balance compounded by perpetual, infatigable interest, the creditors disattached and unconcerned with the omnipresent, collective cascade into a bottomless debt of fear, resentment, and anxiety. Smoldering in the ashes of reason, glowing in the coals of fury, and rising within the diffuse haze of humanity, the subatomic, deep cellular energy of fuzz, rhythm, and amplified sound endures. Beyond tonic or intoxicant, this neurosonic force is the lifeblood, the purpose, and the salvation. Over two years of interstellar operations and experimental missions, the flight crew has endeavored to harness, distill, eternally preserve, and now, as of today, 10.3.25, deliver a nuclear payload of neural sensation, the lifeblood, a monument to the trial of survival, a volcanic reverie of psychonautic deliverance, an invitation to transcendence.
